Narrative:

Last leg of the day, captain flying, aircraft had been 'cleared for ILS, runway 12R, 3000 ft until established.' captain neglected to select 'altitude hold' at 3000 ft (autoplt was engaged). At 2400 ft MSL, approach advised crew that they were too low and directed a climb back to 3000 ft MSL. Climb was initiated and ILS GS intercepted at 2650 ft MSL. The crew members obviously allowed themselves to be distracted. A little more attention to the work at hand at the end of the day would have prevented this occurrence.
