Narrative:
As an aircraft dispatcher for air carrier X farmington, NM, I accepted a shift from the morning dispatcher. The morning dispatcher had released a revenue flight into an airport (riw) that we listed as an alternate in our operations specifications to drop off a part for a broken aircraft. The aircraft was en route to this airport when I accepted the shift. I failed to recognize that riw was an alternate airport only. The aircraft landed and departed without incident. I discovered that the release was illegal after the aircraft had departed from riw. After notifying the dispatch supervisor we decided to do a self disclosure. Factors involved were human error and complacency. Although I did not dispatch the aircraft into or out of riw it was still my responsibility since I accepted the shift.

Title: DISPATCHER NOTICED THAT A COMPANY MDT HAD BEEN DISPATCHED TO A COMPANY ARPT APPROVED FOR ALTERNATE USE ONLY AFTER IT HAD LANDED AND TAKING OFF AGAIN. DISPATCHER MADE A SELF DISCLOSURE TO THE FAA REGARDING THIS OVERSIGHT.
Narrative: AS AN ACFT DISPATCHER FOR ACR X FARMINGTON, NM, I ACCEPTED A SHIFT FROM THE MORNING DISPATCHER. THE MORNING DISPATCHER HAD RELEASED A REVENUE FLT INTO AN ARPT (RIW) THAT WE LISTED AS AN ALTERNATE IN OUR OPS SPECS TO DROP OFF A PART FOR A BROKEN ACFT. THE ACFT WAS ENRTE TO THIS ARPT WHEN I ACCEPTED THE SHIFT. I FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THAT RIW WAS AN ALTERNATE ARPT ONLY. THE ACFT LANDED AND DEPARTED WITHOUT INCIDENT. I DISCOVERED THAT THE RELEASE WAS ILLEGAL AFTER THE ACFT HAD DEPARTED FROM RIW. AFTER NOTIFYING THE DISPATCH SUPVR WE DECIDED TO DO A SELF DISCLOSURE. FACTORS INVOLVED WERE HUMAN ERROR AND COMPLACENCY. ALTHOUGH I DID NOT DISPATCH THE ACFT INTO OR OUT OF RIW IT WAS STILL MY RESPONSIBILITY SINCE I ACCEPTED THE SHIFT.
