Narrative:

A little light snow falling during engine start and taxi, approaching runway 4 instructed first officer to check wings for snow. I heard first officer yell for flight attendant. A doctor came to the cockpit and checked my pulse, (was ok). Medical assistance arrived and checked pulse and blood pressure (was ok). I removed my personal headset and put it in its case. I put my charts, eye glasses in my flight bag and closed it, got out of my seat, and sat in wheelchair and was removed from aircraft and brought to hospital. There was no damage to aircraft or injuries to passenger or crew to the best of my knowledge. Supplemental information from acn 360640: I was a deadheading captain. As we approached the takeoff end of runway 4, the aircraft made a sudden, jolting stop. Approximately 30 seconds later an announcement came over the PA requesting any doctor on board. At that time I made my presence know to flight attendants. Apparently the captain became ill -- unresponsive. The copilot shut down the engines and called for emt's. I gave my assistance to the crew. The first officer and flight attendants handled the situation very professionally. After the captain was removed I coordinated with dispatch and the local ground crew and taxied the aircraft back to the gate.
