Narrative:
On my arrival to fay, fay approach let me know he thought I wasn't doing a very good job flying my plane. This comment and another one made had me a little hot under the collar. After receiving my clearance and taxi instruction, I felt they were not acting in my best interest. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is in my mind I was being picked on. On departure, I was still thinking about it and my routing, and flew through the 2000 ft assigned. They advised me when I was at 2500 ft. My mind was not in the right place! They cleared me on to 3000 ft. It was totally my fault. I let someone get to me at a time that I should not have. Lesson learned.
