Narrative:

Location: pit. We were instructed to taxi up to runway 10C via taxiway west, contact tower when ready. We ended up taxiing south of runway 10C on taxiway west. Tower advised us to do a 180 degree turn at the next intersection and taxi into position and hold on runway 10C. We did this and departed uneventfully. As the first officer, I was heads down at an unfamiliar airport doing the checklist. I do not believe a runway incursion occurred as the commercial publication show runway 10C starting east of taxi west. Next time, we should park the brakes, do the checklist, then taxi when we can both look outside.
