Narrative:

Aircraft was brought in for routine maintenance. After service, the aircraft status sheet was updated. The times forwarded included a date that had passed. The aircraft was flown in that condition. Lack of attention on behalf of the mechanic was a contributing factor. Also, no xchk (quality control) was performed. This xchk system is in place at the maintenance facility, but was not used. Steps taken to ensure against future system failures: 1) an emergency staff/personnel meeting was held addressing this problem and how to avoid similar problems, 2) an amplified checklist has been adopted, denoting special attention to time/life sensitive components, and 3) additional personnel have been assigned in aircraft supervisory capacity to audit aircraft information as it relates to charter aircraft and time/life components.
