Narrative:

After landing on runway 3 in abq, we were told to exit at taxiway C. Upon exiting the runway, there was another aircraft in front of us turning north onto taxiway C. We advised tower of the conflict and asked what he wanted us to do. After waiting for a response, we fell in behind the other aircraft (I believe it was a non air carrier B727) and switched to ground control frequency. Ground control told us to taxi via taxiway G and hold short of runway 12. I acknowledged this, but then realized we had passed taxiway G and were already across the hold short line for runway 12. Informed ground that we were unable to hold short and followed the B727 in front of us across the runway. As we crossed the runway, he issued us revised taxi instructions to the ramp.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 3 IN ABQ, WE WERE TOLD TO EXIT AT TXWY C. UPON EXITING THE RWY, THERE WAS ANOTHER ACFT IN FRONT OF US TURNING N ONTO TXWY C. WE ADVISED TWR OF THE CONFLICT AND ASKED WHAT HE WANTED US TO DO. AFTER WAITING FOR A RESPONSE, WE FELL IN BEHIND THE OTHER ACFT (I BELIEVE IT WAS A NON ACR B727) AND SWITCHED TO GND CTL FREQ. GND CTL TOLD US TO TAXI VIA TXWY G AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12. I ACKNOWLEDGED THIS, BUT THEN REALIZED WE HAD PASSED TXWY G AND WERE ALREADY ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 12. INFORMED GND THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO HOLD SHORT AND FOLLOWED THE B727 IN FRONT OF US ACROSS THE RWY. AS WE CROSSED THE RWY, HE ISSUED US REVISED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO THE RAMP.
