Narrative:

After clearing runway 28R for taxi in to gate, after landing checklist calls for APU to be started. Successfully started and subsequently put on line. Shortly thereafter, smoke emanated from control panel behind first officer. First officer pulled 2 circuit breakers on the panel. Captain reselected power to engine generators. Informed ground control of situation, requested assistance from fire department. Advised flight attendants and company of situation. After reselection of power to engines and pulling circuit breakers, smoke subsided and stopped. Proceeded to gate. Passenger deplaned normally. No further assistance required.

Title: AFTER THE APU WAS STARTED AFTER LNDG DURING TAXI TO GATE, SMOKE WAS OBSERVED COMING FROM ONE OF THE COCKPIT ELECTRICAL CTL PANELS. THE FIRE EQUIP WAS REQUESTED TO STAND BY. HOWEVER, AFTER SWITCHING GENERATORS TO THE ENG POS AND SHUTTING OFF CIRCUIT BREAKERS, THE SMOKE STOPPED AND THE PAX WERE DEPLANED AT THE GATE AS NORMAL.

INFORMED GND CTL OF SIT, REQUESTED ASSISTANCE FROM FIRE DEPT. ADVISED FLT ATTENDANTS AND COMPANY OF SIT. AFTER RESELECTION OF PWR TO ENGS AND PULLING CIRCUIT BREAKERS, SMOKE SUBSIDED AND STOPPED. PROCEEDED TO GATE. PAX DEPLANED NORMALLY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE REQUIRED.
