To properly appreciate the impracticality of this approach procedure please perform the following exercise. Imagine yourself 10 mins out from landing at mht, nh, airport. You have been cleared to the localizer runway 17 IAF to perform the procedure turn/localizer runway 17 approach. Now hack your clock and brief this procedure to your copilot. Time's up! Are you prepared? A few questions: how are you going to set up your navigation radios to identify crtla? Betey? (D11.4 from where? It took me a while to figure it out.) is this approach practical? Why does it have to be so complicated? Can't all crossing restrs be off 1 VOR? It's difficult to accomplish this procedure while flying from an armchair much less real life. I won't fly it, I'll ask for the VOR runway 17 approach and live with the higher limits.
