Narrative:

On ILS to runway 9R at mia, in visual conditions, approach informed us of an aircraft to be passing overhead from the south to land on runway 9L. We visually picked up the traffic and he passed overhead on 2-3 mi final with no problems. In his concern that we had a visual on the traffic, and that there would be no conflict, either approach did not switch us to tower or we missed the call. We landed thinking we had clearance and when switching to ground, discovered we were still on approach. I called tower after parking and was told that no problem existed that they were aware of.
