Narrative:
Cleared to taxi from our gate to runway 28L. Aircraft taxied to the runway not noticing the hold short line for runway 23 is also the hold short line for runway 28L. The charts have a note that is not very noticeable with fine print among some trees shown on the airfield diagram. The controller informed us this is a common occurrence. Improved signage and a clear chart note would correct the situation.

Narrative: CLRED TO TAXI FROM OUR GATE TO RWY 28L. ACFT TAXIED TO THE RWY NOT NOTICING THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 23 IS ALSO THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 28L. THE CHARTS HAVE A NOTE THAT IS NOT VERY NOTICEABLE WITH FINE PRINT AMONG SOME TREES SHOWN ON THE AIRFIELD DIAGRAM. THE CTLR INFORMED US THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. IMPROVED SIGNAGE AND A CLR CHART NOTE WOULD CORRECT THE SIT.
