Narrative:

We hit a small bird while landing at rsw. The bird was about 3 or 4 ounces and we hit him doing about 90 or 95 KTS at the right lower corner of the captain's windshield. After landing I reported it to the control tower and then did a preflight of the aircraft. No damage was seen so we returned to mco. 10 days later I was informed that the FAA considered the aircraft grounded until inspected by a mechanic. I have never heard of any policy regarding bird strikes and the aircraft being grounded.
