Narrative:
After passenger dropoff at key west, ferry to fll (home base). Due to short field at key west, I planned on being light enough to return to fll. I misjudged the amount of fuel required for the 118 mi leg due to the fact I was kept lower than planned for crossing restrs, and slower traffic ahead. As that traffic slowed even further 4 mi from the airport I declared a minimum fuel situation to prevent a go around and requested a landing on runway 13 as opposed to runway 9. This was granted and landed without incident. In retrospect: 1) I will not try to let my superiors influence my decision to use a runway that I feel is less than required for a safe trip. 2) take on more than required fuel. 3) encourage my copilot to voice any and all concerns about the fuel/runway required for all trips. (He was extremely quiet during this trip.) 4) I landed with 900 pounds remaining, approximately 9 mins to fuel exhaustion.

Title: CPR DC9-15 FERRY FLT FROM EYW TO FLL DECLARES MINIMUM FUEL EMER AND REQUESTS LNDG RWY 13 VERSUS RWY 9. LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. FUEL REMAINING 900 LBS.
Narrative: AFTER PAX DROPOFF AT KEY WEST, FERRY TO FLL (HOME BASE). DUE TO SHORT FIELD AT KEY WEST, I PLANNED ON BEING LIGHT ENOUGH TO RETURN TO FLL. I MISJUDGED THE AMOUNT OF FUEL REQUIRED FOR THE 118 MI LEG DUE TO THE FACT I WAS KEPT LOWER THAN PLANNED FOR XING RESTRS, AND SLOWER TFC AHEAD. AS THAT TFC SLOWED EVEN FURTHER 4 MI FROM THE ARPT I DECLARED A MINIMUM FUEL SIT TO PREVENT A GAR AND REQUESTED A LNDG ON RWY 13 AS OPPOSED TO RWY 9. THIS WAS GRANTED AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. IN RETROSPECT: 1) I WILL NOT TRY TO LET MY SUPERIORS INFLUENCE MY DECISION TO USE A RWY THAT I FEEL IS LESS THAN REQUIRED FOR A SAFE TRIP. 2) TAKE ON MORE THAN REQUIRED FUEL. 3) ENCOURAGE MY COPLT TO VOICE ANY AND ALL CONCERNS ABOUT THE FUEL/RWY REQUIRED FOR ALL TRIPS. (HE WAS EXTREMELY QUIET DURING THIS TRIP.) 4) I LANDED WITH 900 LBS REMAINING, APPROX 9 MINS TO FUEL EXHAUSTION.
