Narrative:

All frequencys were combined on the tower frequency. We were cleared to taxi to runway 17 for takeoff. As we approached the intersection of runways 17 and 8, and the taxiway we heard the controller tell us 'to keep it rolling around the corner, no delay, cleared for takeoff.' we departed on runway 17. After takeoff, the controller said we took off on the wrong runway. When asked for clarification, the controller said that he told us to 'keep it rolling, no delay, runway 8, cleared for takeoff.' supplemental information from acn 353687: during our takeoff briefing, we had decided to request runway 17. The first officer and I had it in our heads that this would be the departure runway. ATIS was announcing runways 17 and 8 as runways in use. As we rolled onto runway 17 (still doing takeoff checks) the controller cleared us for takeoff 'without delay.' neither I or the first officer recall any references to runway 8.

Title: AN ACR ATR42 CREW MAY HAVE TAKEN OFF ON THE WRONG RWY. THERE IS SOME DOUBT AS THE FLC BELIEVES THAT THEY WERE CLRED TO TKOF RWY 17 WHILE THE ATCT THOUGHT THAT HE SAID RWY 8.

Narrative: ALL FREQS WERE COMBINED ON THE TWR FREQ. WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 17 FOR TKOF. AS WE APCHED THE INTXN OF RWYS 17 AND 8, AND THE TXWY WE HEARD THE CTLR TELL US 'TO KEEP IT ROLLING AROUND THE CORNER, NO DELAY, CLRED FOR TKOF.' WE DEPARTED ON RWY 17. AFTER TKOF, THE CTLR SAID WE TOOK OFF ON THE WRONG RWY. WHEN ASKED FOR CLARIFICATION, THE CTLR SAID THAT HE TOLD US TO 'KEEP IT ROLLING, NO DELAY, RWY 8, CLRED FOR TKOF.' SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 353687: DURING OUR TKOF BRIEFING, WE HAD DECIDED TO REQUEST RWY 17. THE FO AND I HAD IT IN OUR HEADS THAT THIS WOULD BE THE DEP RWY. ATIS WAS ANNOUNCING RWYS 17 AND 8 AS RWYS IN USE. AS WE ROLLED ONTO RWY 17 (STILL DOING TKOF CHKS) THE CTLR CLRED US FOR TKOF 'WITHOUT DELAY.' NEITHER I OR THE FO RECALL ANY REFS TO RWY 8.
