Narrative:
After being assigned a crossing restr at mizar at 12000 ft, began a descent at the crl 246/58. Under normal winds, this would have allowed plenty of time to descend and meet the crossing restr. Because of tailwinds, the crossing restr was missed by 4 mi.

Title: AN ACR DC9-50 MISSED ITS XING RESTR BY 4 MI. ERROR ADMITTED.
Narrative: AFTER BEING ASSIGNED A XING RESTR AT MIZAR AT 12000 FT, BEGAN A DSCNT AT THE CRL 246/58. UNDER NORMAL WINDS, THIS WOULD HAVE ALLOWED PLENTY OF TIME TO DSND AND MEET THE XING RESTR. BECAUSE OF TAILWINDS, THE XING RESTR WAS MISSED BY 4 MI.
