Narrative:
Upon beginning descent for landing after a transatlantic crossing, the #2 engine made a thump and continued to thump like driving with a flat tire. All appropriate normal and emergency procedures were accomplished, the engine was secured and an uneventful approach and landing was accomplished. An emergency was declared upon securing the engine.

Narrative: UPON BEGINNING DSCNT FOR LNDG AFTER A TRANSATLANTIC XING, THE #2 ENG MADE A THUMP AND CONTINUED TO THUMP LIKE DRIVING WITH A FLAT TIRE. ALL APPROPRIATE NORMAL AND EMER PROCS WERE ACCOMPLISHED, THE ENG WAS SECURED AND AN UNEVENTFUL APCH AND LNDG WAS ACCOMPLISHED. AN EMER WAS DECLARED UPON SECURING THE ENG.
