Narrative:

Location: approximately har 300 degree radial, 4 DME. Level at 8000 ft, we received a TA which turned into an RA with a command to climb. We responded to RA by climbing to approximately 8600 ft, and notified nyc immediately. A cessna aircraft was visually spotted at 8000 ft, along with a jet aircraft at 9000 ft. In the same vicinity. We immediately returned to 8000 ft when we were clear of conflict. Nyc was not aware of any aircraft at 8000 ft, only of the jet at 9000 ft.
