Narrative:

While working the arrival sector I experienced several aircraft in a row after being switched by the center to my frequency, that I could not hear, or came in broken. The aircraft were descending to cross mad VOR at 10000 ft and 250 KTS. On one occasion, it was a flight of 2 A10's and the lead was trying to tell me that #2 ship had gone lost wingman. After coordination with sector, I had to use #1 ship to relay transponder code and other control instructions to the #2 ship as this aircraft was in the area of non-reception for me. All aircraft said they could hear me, except for the #2 A10.
