Narrative:

The WX was clear with 5 KT variable surface wind. After a 45 min local flight (with 1 passenger) I landed normally on runway 20. Just after landing, the plane started to veer and bank to the left. I could not gain control of this and I thought that the left wing might touch the ground, so I applied full throttle and did a go around. At this point the plane was on the scrub off the left side of the runway and pointing about 45 degrees to the centerline and towards the parking area. I judged that there was enough distance to become airborne, but the clearance over the parking area was low. Perhaps I should have tried to stop the plane and faced the consequences of a good spin rather than attempting this go around. After the go around I did an uneventful landing. At this point I do not know what caused the plane to veer to the left.

Title: TEMPORARY LOSS OF ACFT CTL IN C182RG. PLT VEERS TO NEARLY OFF THE RWY AND PERFORMS A GAR OVER A GROUP OF CARS PARKED IN THE NEARBY LOT.

Narrative: THE WX WAS CLR WITH 5 KT VARIABLE SURFACE WIND. AFTER A 45 MIN LCL FLT (WITH 1 PAX) I LANDED NORMALLY ON RWY 20. JUST AFTER LNDG, THE PLANE STARTED TO VEER AND BANK TO THE L. I COULD NOT GAIN CTL OF THIS AND I THOUGHT THAT THE L WING MIGHT TOUCH THE GND, SO I APPLIED FULL THROTTLE AND DID A GAR. AT THIS POINT THE PLANE WAS ON THE SCRUB OFF THE L SIDE OF THE RWY AND POINTING ABOUT 45 DEGS TO THE CTRLINE AND TOWARDS THE PARKING AREA. I JUDGED THAT THERE WAS ENOUGH DISTANCE TO BECOME AIRBORNE, BUT THE CLRNC OVER THE PARKING AREA WAS LOW. PERHAPS I SHOULD HAVE TRIED TO STOP THE PLANE AND FACED THE CONSEQUENCES OF A GOOD SPIN RATHER THAN ATTEMPTING THIS GAR. AFTER THE GAR I DID AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG. AT THIS POINT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE PLANE TO VEER TO THE L.
