Narrative:

I flew an EMS mission from zza to zzb. After leaving downtown zzc, I contacted zzc approach, requested and received VFR flight following. I was assigned a squawk. I could hear zzc approach talking to other aircraft. 8 mi south of zzd I thought I should be handed off to zzd approach. I tried to contact zzc but no reply. On my second radio, I tried to contact zzd tower while I tried to climb over the airspace. Tower told me to contact approach. Zzd approach gave me a new squawk and a lecture about airspace usage. I never heard zzc approach say, 'radar service terminated.' I have been working in zzc for 3 weeks and this was my first flight to zzb.

I NEVER HEARD ZZC APCH SAY, 'RADAR SVC TERMINATED.' I HAVE BEEN WORKING IN ZZC FOR 3 WKS AND THIS WAS MY FIRST FLT TO ZZB.
