Narrative:
I returned to my aircraft and again listened to the local ATIS. It was still reporting thunderstorms northeast of evansville. I advised clearance of the discrepancy and switched to ground. I was advised to taxi and hold short of runway 18. Another single engine aircraft was in the process of doing touch-and-goes on runway 18. My mind was still on the thunderstorms. I lost track of my location. I believed I was crossing taxiway C when I actually was crossing runway 18. The tower saw me and told me to expedite because of traffic. I expedited and crossed runway 18. I immediately realized what I had done. I allowed the false thunderstorm (ATIS) report to keep me from concentrating on what I was doing. I was in the process of taxiing and my thoughts should have been there. Next time I will concentrate on what I am doing, and when I am stopped, if I have to, I will query clearance or tower. Evansville is not a familiar airport to me.

Title: PVT PLT OF AN SMA SEL CROSSED THE ACTIVE RWY DURING TAXI FOR TKOF CAUSING THE TWR TO SEND ANOTHER ACFT AROUND.
Narrative: I RETURNED TO MY ACFT AND AGAIN LISTENED TO THE LCL ATIS. IT WAS STILL RPTING TSTMS NE OF EVANSVILLE. I ADVISED CLRNC OF THE DISCREPANCY AND SWITCHED TO GND. I WAS ADVISED TO TAXI AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 18. ANOTHER SINGLE ENG ACFT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DOING TOUCH-AND-GOES ON RWY 18. MY MIND WAS STILL ON THE TSTMS. I LOST TRACK OF MY LOCATION. I BELIEVED I WAS XING TXWY C WHEN I ACTUALLY WAS XING RWY 18. THE TWR SAW ME AND TOLD ME TO EXPEDITE BECAUSE OF TFC. I EXPEDITED AND CROSSED RWY 18. I IMMEDIATELY REALIZED WHAT I HAD DONE. I ALLOWED THE FALSE TSTM (ATIS) RPT TO KEEP ME FROM CONCENTRATING ON WHAT I WAS DOING. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TAXIING AND MY THOUGHTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. NEXT TIME I WILL CONCENTRATE ON WHAT I AM DOING, AND WHEN I AM STOPPED, IF I HAVE TO, I WILL QUERY CLRNC OR TWR. EVANSVILLE IS NOT A FAMILIAR ARPT TO ME.
