Narrative:

When assisting mechanic on removal of #2 rear main left gear tire that was worn, tang washer stuck to wheel bearing and was not installed with new tire. Washer was difficult to see, as noted by fellow mechanic and light level was low while changing tire on the ramp. The error was found when the unsvcable tire was being worked at ZZZ. Line controller was notified and write-up was generated. The discrepancy was repaired at XXX.

Title: MECHS OVERLOOKED THE TANG WHEEL WASHER AFTER CHANGING THE TIRE ON A DC10-10 ACFT. IT WAS DISCOVERED BY THE TIRE SHOP WHEN FIXING THE TIRE, WHO IN TURN NOTIFIED THE FIELD REPAIR FACILITY. THE ACFT WAS LOCATED AND THE MISSING WASHER INSTALLED. RPTR MECH IS A&P RATED AND EMPLOYED IN THE CAPACITY OF A TECHNICIAN.

Narrative: WHEN ASSISTING MECH ON REMOVAL OF #2 REAR MAIN L GEAR TIRE THAT WAS WORN, TANG WASHER STUCK TO WHEEL BEARING AND WAS NOT INSTALLED WITH NEW TIRE. WASHER WAS DIFFICULT TO SEE, AS NOTED BY FELLOW MECH AND LIGHT LEVEL WAS LOW WHILE CHANGING TIRE ON THE RAMP. THE ERROR WAS FOUND WHEN THE UNSVCABLE TIRE WAS BEING WORKED AT ZZZ. LINE CTLR WAS NOTIFIED AND WRITE-UP WAS GENERATED. THE DISCREPANCY WAS REPAIRED AT XXX.
