Narrative:
Missed turn to 295 degrees after departing runway 34 at hpn. Controller had to have us turn tightly since we were mistakenly on a 340 degree runway heading. Controller was very busy. We thought we heard and read back stay on runway heading clearance and I (captain) was having headset problems. Intermittent.
