Narrative:

While climbing after departing runway 34L sea, climbed on mountain 4 departure and at 8 DME turned to 070 degrees then given 090 degrees heading to intercept J-90 while climbing to FL210. PNF entered airway into bluit intersection while I was hand flying aircraft. Captain was then to make an announcement so autoplt was engaged. About 2 mins later, controller cleared aircraft direct down line. At that time noted LNAV had not been engaged so aircraft had flown past J-90. Clear WX was a factor as we were distracted by scenery. Crew coordination was a factor. I expected the captain to arm LNAV as I was hand flying but did not specifically request it and got distracted before rechking.
