Narrative:

Flew into tpa class B at approximately XX40 transponder wasn't picked up. Landed at tpa. Pushed the identify button and received the reply light. After clearing customs, got clearance and taxied for takeoff. Tower advised that they didn't receive my transponder. However, gave me clearance for takeoff. I would not have taken off had I thought that my transponder was inoperative. As I said before, I thought the problem was rectified.

Title: ACFT UNKNOWN CARGO TYPE FLEW INTO CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT AN OPERATING XPONDER. RPTR ASSUMED THAT WHEN RECEIVING A REPLY LIGHT AFTER PUSHING THE IDENT BUTTON THAT THE XPONDER WORKED. BEFORE THE NEXT TKOF TWR ADVISED RPTR THAT THEY WEREN'T RECEIVING HIS XPONDER.

TWR ADVISED THAT THEY DIDN'T RECEIVE MY XPONDER. HOWEVER, GAVE ME CLRNC FOR TKOF. I WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN OFF HAD I THOUGHT THAT MY XPONDER WAS INOP. AS I SAID BEFORE, I THOUGHT THE PROB WAS RECTIFIED.
