Narrative:

On departure we were cleared for takeoff on runway 1L with departure clearance to fly heading 020 degrees to FL260. As we were turning onto the runway an aircraft was cleared to enter a VFR pattern north of runway 1L for the parallel runway 1R which had it crossing directly in front of us just off (less than 1 mi) the departure end of runway 1L. We were not given this traffic by ATC but realized it was cleared across our flight path and that the l-r course it was on put it into our 020 degree heading path. On climb out we could not maintain visual contact with the traffic due to the climb deck angle and traffic position. We got a TCASII TA and had the traffic on TCASII at approximately 1-2 O'clock above us during the climb out. The 020 degree heading would have taken us directly into this traffic's path. The flying captain elected to stay runway heading of 010 degrees and eventually turned a little left of that to avoid the traffic. During this time tower cleared us to departure and departure gave us a clearance to turn left direct to our destination.

Title: A B737 DEPARTS FAI AND ENCOUNTERS ANOTHER ACFT ENTERING TFC PATTERN IN CLOSE PROX TO HIS ACFT. EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN BY NOT TURNING TO ASSIGNED HDG UNTIL THE OTHER ACFT WAS CLR.

Narrative: ON DEP WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 1L WITH DEP CLRNC TO FLY HDG 020 DEGS TO FL260. AS WE WERE TURNING ONTO THE RWY AN ACFT WAS CLRED TO ENTER A VFR PATTERN N OF RWY 1L FOR THE PARALLEL RWY 1R WHICH HAD IT XING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US JUST OFF (LESS THAN 1 MI) THE DEP END OF RWY 1L. WE WERE NOT GIVEN THIS TFC BY ATC BUT REALIZED IT WAS CLRED ACROSS OUR FLT PATH AND THAT THE L-R COURSE IT WAS ON PUT IT INTO OUR 020 DEG HDG PATH. ON CLBOUT WE COULD NOT MAINTAIN VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE TFC DUE TO THE CLB DECK ANGLE AND TFC POS. WE GOT A TCASII TA AND HAD THE TFC ON TCASII AT APPROX 1-2 O'CLOCK ABOVE US DURING THE CLBOUT. THE 020 DEG HDG WOULD HAVE TAKEN US DIRECTLY INTO THIS TFC'S PATH. THE FLYING CAPT ELECTED TO STAY RWY HDG OF 010 DEGS AND EVENTUALLY TURNED A LITTLE L OF THAT TO AVOID THE TFC. DURING THIS TIME TWR CLRED US TO DEP AND DEP GAVE US A CLRNC TO TURN L DIRECT TO OUR DEST.
