Narrative:

Landing clearance to cdw was requested approximately 10 mi north of cdw. Subsequent to requesting landing clearance at cdw, I was cleared for a straight-in approach to runway 22. At this time I tuned and idented the cdw runway 22 localizer on 109.35 and proceeded to turn to approximately 120 degrees for localizer intercept. For reasons unknown at this time, the localizer centered approximately upon the centerline of teb runway 24 at which time I headed inbound and called a 4 mi final to cdw tower, as I was convinced by the localizer needle indication that I was on final to cdw runway 22. After cdw tower called twice that they did not have me in sight on final, I realized that I was on an approximately 3 mi final to teb and immediately turned wbound to exit teb airspace and return to cdw for landing. Subsequent landing at cdw was uneventful and unremarkable.

Title: SMA PLT ON 10 MI APCH PICKS UP WRONG LOC INDICATION AND ENTERS CLASS C AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: LNDG CLRNC TO CDW WAS REQUESTED APPROX 10 MI N OF CDW. SUBSEQUENT TO REQUESTING LNDG CLRNC AT CDW, I WAS CLRED FOR A STRAIGHT-IN APCH TO RWY 22. AT THIS TIME I TUNED AND IDENTED THE CDW RWY 22 LOC ON 109.35 AND PROCEEDED TO TURN TO APPROX 120 DEGS FOR LOC INTERCEPT. FOR REASONS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME, THE LOC CTRED APPROX UPON THE CTRLINE OF TEB RWY 24 AT WHICH TIME I HEADED INBOUND AND CALLED A 4 MI FINAL TO CDW TWR, AS I WAS CONVINCED BY THE LOC NEEDLE INDICATION THAT I WAS ON FINAL TO CDW RWY 22. AFTER CDW TWR CALLED TWICE THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ME IN SIGHT ON FINAL, I REALIZED THAT I WAS ON AN APPROX 3 MI FINAL TO TEB AND IMMEDIATELY TURNED WBOUND TO EXIT TEB AIRSPACE AND RETURN TO CDW FOR LNDG. SUBSEQUENT LNDG AT CDW WAS UNEVENTFUL AND UNREMARKABLE.
