Narrative:

On mod 2 arrival into sfo we were given cedes at 11000 ft and 250 KTS. We had started our descent late and would not have made both speed and altitude at cedes. We advised approach we would turn or do whatever necessary to make the restr. The controller did not answer when we first advised. On our second call he seemed upset and told us to continue. We were given a frequency change prior to cedes and the new controller gave us a lower altitude, heading change and ask us to keep our speed up. This was prior to reaching cedes. There appeared to be no traffic conflict.
