Narrative:

Taxi instructions for the gate were to runway 21 via txwys E2 and east to hold short of runway 28R at the opposite end of the departures. We complied. The tower cleared us for takeoff runway 21. The captain taxied on to the wrong end of runway 28R for a takeoff roll going the wrong way. After repeating the takeoff clearance, I had looked down to check the squawk and do the required checklist items after the takeoff clearance is accepted. I felt the wrong turn and immediately made it aware to the captain to get off the runway. Tower also noticed and told us to exit immediately to the right. We exited and held short again. We then departed, after we were cleared on runway 21. The captain said he had understood runway 10L. I have no idea where he got that idea. We discussed the situation and agreed to make sure and verify the other person understood all instructions from ATC.
