Narrative:

After uncommanded roll of aircraft at arnes intersection, autoplt was disconnected and manually flown for remainder of approach. GS was intercepted at fuelr intersection and flown to the runway. Altitude approaching hunda intersection was below the 3500 ft stepdown. Cause for altitude violation: interception of GS too early on approach. Manual flown approach (glass cockpit) from 30 mi out may also have contributed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: during callback, the reporter stated that he disconnected the autoplt because of slight wake turbulence from proceeding aircraft. As he took manual control of the aircraft, he started to fly the GS of the ILS, this would put him low over fuelr. This pilot felt that by flying the GS, it would always keep the aircraft clear of any restr altitudes. He stated he was not familiar with the fuelr restr when flying the GS regarding how critical the crossing altitude is. Reporter also stated that an advisory from the controller who issues the ILS clearance regarding, 'comply with all crossing altitudes,' would have increased his awareness regarding the importance of observing crossing altitudes.

Title: FLC FLIES BELOW ASSIGNED XING ALT ON APCH INTO LAX.

Narrative: AFTER UNCOMMANDED ROLL OF ACFT AT ARNES INTXN, AUTOPLT WAS DISCONNECTED AND MANUALLY FLOWN FOR REMAINDER OF APCH. GS WAS INTERCEPTED AT FUELR INTXN AND FLOWN TO THE RWY. ALT APCHING HUNDA INTXN WAS BELOW THE 3500 FT STEPDOWN. CAUSE FOR ALT VIOLATION: INTERCEPTION OF GS TOO EARLY ON APCH. MANUAL FLOWN APCH (GLASS COCKPIT) FROM 30 MI OUT MAY ALSO HAVE CONTRIBUTED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: DURING CALLBACK, THE RPTR STATED THAT HE DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT BECAUSE OF SLIGHT WAKE TURB FROM PROCEEDING ACFT. AS HE TOOK MANUAL CTL OF THE ACFT, HE STARTED TO FLY THE GS OF THE ILS, THIS WOULD PUT HIM LOW OVER FUELR. THIS PLT FELT THAT BY FLYING THE GS, IT WOULD ALWAYS KEEP THE ACFT CLR OF ANY RESTR ALTS. HE STATED HE WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE FUELR RESTR WHEN FLYING THE GS REGARDING HOW CRITICAL THE XING ALT IS. RPTR ALSO STATED THAT AN ADVISORY FROM THE CTLR WHO ISSUES THE ILS CLRNC REGARDING, 'COMPLY WITH ALL XING ALTS,' WOULD HAVE INCREASED HIS AWARENESS REGARDING THE IMPORTANCE OF OBSERVING XING ALTS.
