Narrative:

Air driven generator deployed in-flight when APU was shut down in the climb checklist. Requested to return to hpn airport. No emergency involved. As air driven generator deployed the first officer (PNF) saw that both engine generator switches were in the (back) off position. They were immediately moved (forward) to on. Essential power transferred to main AC bus and an uneventful approach and landing followed.

Title: MDT ACFT HAS AIR DRIVEN GENERATOR DEPLOY INFLT WHEN SHUTTING DOWN THE APU. ON INSPECTION IT WAS NOTED THAT BOTH ENG GENERATOR SWITCHES WERE IN THE OFF POS.

Narrative: AIR DRIVEN GENERATOR DEPLOYED INFLT WHEN APU WAS SHUT DOWN IN THE CLB CHKLIST. REQUESTED TO RETURN TO HPN ARPT. NO EMER INVOLVED. AS AIR DRIVEN GENERATOR DEPLOYED THE FO (PNF) SAW THAT BOTH ENG GENERATOR SWITCHES WERE IN THE (BACK) OFF POS. THEY WERE IMMEDIATELY MOVED (FORWARD) TO ON. ESSENTIAL PWR TRANSFERRED TO MAIN AC BUS AND AN UNEVENTFUL APCH AND LNDG FOLLOWED.
