Narrative:

A CFI and myself rented a tomahawk from an FBO to do some practice maneuvers in VFR conditions. I was in the left seat. We were in a practice area trading off practicing maneuvers and talking on a common frequency to other aircraft in the vicinity. The area became busy so we decided to go to another airport and practice lndgs. We headed north and crossed over a class D airspace making sure we were above 2600 ft, which would clear their airspace. The CFI was at the controls when we called the destination airport to receive instructions to enter their pattern. We were asked to talk to the tower of the airfield we flew over. They reported us at 1800 ft. We made sure we had been at 2600 ft or above so this surprised us. In the downwind for landing we asked the tower to verify us at 1000 ft. They announced we were at 1500 ft. We decided that our mode C must be reading incorrectly. We completed our landing and headed back to the airport that reported us incorrectly. While in their pattern we asked them to also verify our altitude at 1000 ft. They told us we were showing 1500 ft. We made sure to put the mode C problem in the squawk book at the FBO. As we were taxiing back, however, the CFI was at the controls and I was trying to watch the parked aircraft. As we were going down the row of aircraft to our parking spot, there was one piper cherokee 235 that was 2 ft further forward than any other aircraft. As we were looking from side to side and taxiing down the yellow taxi line, we didn't see that the cherokee was in the way until our right wingtip clipped its spinner. There was slight damage done to the tomahawk's right wingtip and position light plate and slight damage done to the cherokee's spinner. It is considered an incident only.

Title: XPONDER MALFUNCTION CAUSING ACFT TO PENETRATE CLASS D AIRSPACE. ON RETURN TO BASE AND DURING TAXI IN, STRUCK NOSE SPINNER OF PARKED ACFT WITH R WINGTIP. MINOR DAMAGE. PA38 AND PA28.

Narrative: A CFI AND MYSELF RENTED A TOMAHAWK FROM AN FBO TO DO SOME PRACTICE MANEUVERS IN VFR CONDITIONS. I WAS IN THE L SEAT. WE WERE IN A PRACTICE AREA TRADING OFF PRACTICING MANEUVERS AND TALKING ON A COMMON FREQ TO OTHER ACFT IN THE VICINITY. THE AREA BECAME BUSY SO WE DECIDED TO GO TO ANOTHER ARPT AND PRACTICE LNDGS. WE HEADED N AND CROSSED OVER A CLASS D AIRSPACE MAKING SURE WE WERE ABOVE 2600 FT, WHICH WOULD CLR THEIR AIRSPACE. THE CFI WAS AT THE CTLS WHEN WE CALLED THE DEST ARPT TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS TO ENTER THEIR PATTERN. WE WERE ASKED TO TALK TO THE TWR OF THE AIRFIELD WE FLEW OVER. THEY RPTED US AT 1800 FT. WE MADE SURE WE HAD BEEN AT 2600 FT OR ABOVE SO THIS SURPRISED US. IN THE DOWNWIND FOR LNDG WE ASKED THE TWR TO VERIFY US AT 1000 FT. THEY ANNOUNCED WE WERE AT 1500 FT. WE DECIDED THAT OUR MODE C MUST BE READING INCORRECTLY. WE COMPLETED OUR LNDG AND HEADED BACK TO THE ARPT THAT RPTED US INCORRECTLY. WHILE IN THEIR PATTERN WE ASKED THEM TO ALSO VERIFY OUR ALT AT 1000 FT. THEY TOLD US WE WERE SHOWING 1500 FT. WE MADE SURE TO PUT THE MODE C PROB IN THE SQUAWK BOOK AT THE FBO. AS WE WERE TAXIING BACK, HOWEVER, THE CFI WAS AT THE CTLS AND I WAS TRYING TO WATCH THE PARKED ACFT. AS WE WERE GOING DOWN THE ROW OF ACFT TO OUR PARKING SPOT, THERE WAS ONE PIPER CHEROKEE 235 THAT WAS 2 FT FURTHER FORWARD THAN ANY OTHER ACFT. AS WE WERE LOOKING FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND TAXIING DOWN THE YELLOW TAXI LINE, WE DIDN'T SEE THAT THE CHEROKEE WAS IN THE WAY UNTIL OUR R WINGTIP CLIPPED ITS SPINNER. THERE WAS SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE TO THE TOMAHAWK'S R WINGTIP AND POS LIGHT PLATE AND SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE TO THE CHEROKEE'S SPINNER. IT IS CONSIDERED AN INCIDENT ONLY.
