Narrative:

ATC frequency, unk ATC facility, lax approach location -- lax ILS. I was informed by lax flight office today that a violation may have been filed for my approach into lax on the above date. As I recall, we were cleared for a civet 1 arrival to lax. Somewhere before arnes, I had a visual on runway 25L. We were aware of the F4 message about the lax ILS being unreliable and had discussed the appropriate altitudes. At some point we were cleared for a visual approach and accepted. I do not believe that we descended below the 8000 ft restr at fuelr. We were, however, searching for 3 aircraft that had been given as traffic for our flight. One was a B747 making an approach to runway 24R, another was unidented and the third was an air carrier Y MD80 proceeding us on the approach to runway 25L. I will also point out that the GS, which was not being used, was oscillating even inside of limma. This approach was hand flown. If I descended below the 8000 ft restr at fuelr, it was not intentional -- even on the visual approach. Supplemental information from acn 342803: socal cleared us ILS runway 25L approach. Shortly after cleared for the approach, socal asked if the airport was in sight. We said yes, and they cleared us for a visual approach to runway 25L. We were inside arnes when the visual was given to us. We were using visual cues and GS for proper glide path. We thought we were above any altitude restrs. Socal didn't say anything to us about any altdevs.

Title: FLC IS CITED FOR FAA VIOLATION DURING ARR INTO LAX. ALT OVER FUELR IS TOO LOW.

Narrative: ATC FREQ, UNK ATC FACILITY, LAX APCH LOCATION -- LAX ILS. I WAS INFORMED BY LAX FLT OFFICE TODAY THAT A VIOLATION MAY HAVE BEEN FILED FOR MY APCH INTO LAX ON THE ABOVE DATE. AS I RECALL, WE WERE CLRED FOR A CIVET 1 ARR TO LAX. SOMEWHERE BEFORE ARNES, I HAD A VISUAL ON RWY 25L. WE WERE AWARE OF THE F4 MESSAGE ABOUT THE LAX ILS BEING UNRELIABLE AND HAD DISCUSSED THE APPROPRIATE ALTS. AT SOME POINT WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH AND ACCEPTED. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT WE DSNDED BELOW THE 8000 FT RESTR AT FUELR. WE WERE, HOWEVER, SEARCHING FOR 3 ACFT THAT HAD BEEN GIVEN AS TFC FOR OUR FLT. ONE WAS A B747 MAKING AN APCH TO RWY 24R, ANOTHER WAS UNIDENTED AND THE THIRD WAS AN ACR Y MD80 PROCEEDING US ON THE APCH TO RWY 25L. I WILL ALSO POINT OUT THAT THE GS, WHICH WAS NOT BEING USED, WAS OSCILLATING EVEN INSIDE OF LIMMA. THIS APCH WAS HAND FLOWN. IF I DSNDED BELOW THE 8000 FT RESTR AT FUELR, IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL -- EVEN ON THE VISUAL APCH. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 342803: SOCAL CLRED US ILS RWY 25L APCH. SHORTLY AFTER CLRED FOR THE APCH, SOCAL ASKED IF THE ARPT WAS IN SIGHT. WE SAID YES, AND THEY CLRED US FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 25L. WE WERE INSIDE ARNES WHEN THE VISUAL WAS GIVEN TO US. WE WERE USING VISUAL CUES AND GS FOR PROPER GLIDE PATH. WE THOUGHT WE WERE ABOVE ANY ALT RESTRS. SOCAL DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO US ABOUT ANY ALTDEVS.
