Narrative:

Climbing out of cle, at about 9000 ft, had the smell of electrical like burning in the aircraft. Smoke was not visible, however, there was a strong sme ll. We declared an emergency and were vectored for the ILS at cle, landing was normal. Cle crash crew inspected aircraft. Cause of smell was oil leaking into #1 engine air conditioning bleed. Bleed was secured and aircraft was ferried to ord.

Title: ACFT EQUIP PROB. OIL LEAKING INTO AIR CONDITIONING BLEED CAUSED SMOKE IN ACFT. WHEN SMOKE FIRST OCCURRED INFLT, FLC DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THE SOURCE OF THE SMOKE WAS, SO DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED TO DEP ARPT FOR UNEVENTFUL LNDG.
