Narrative:

Cleared for a visual approach to runway 16R at slc abeam the field to the west. We proceeded northbound to about a 4-5 mi base leg and began the base/final turn. Rolling into the turn, ATC (can't remember if it was tower or approach -- I think approach) called out traffic on final for runway 16L. PF looked for the traffic and apparently fixated on runway 16L, when he looked back at the runway, and lengthened his final turn to line up on it. As we overshot runway 16R, we got a TA on the traffic on final to runway 16L, followed by an RA as we got closer to his approach path. About the same time, tower asked if we could see the traffic and clarified the runway. Our descent rate at the time already put us in the green band on the tavsi, so we continued descent and corrected back to runway 16R, landing uneventfully.

Title: NMAC ON APCH. RPTR FLC OVERSHOT THE CTRLINE ON PARALLEL RWY, PF, CAPT, APPARENTLY FIXATED ON OTHER RWY AND CAME IN CONFLICT WITH ACFT ON APCH TO THE PARALLEL. TCASII AND TWR ALERTED RPTR FLC TO THE DEV. THEY CORRECTED BACK TO THE CLRED RWY.

Narrative: CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 16R AT SLC ABEAM THE FIELD TO THE W. WE PROCEEDED NBOUND TO ABOUT A 4-5 MI BASE LEG AND BEGAN THE BASE/FINAL TURN. ROLLING INTO THE TURN, ATC (CAN'T REMEMBER IF IT WAS TWR OR APCH -- I THINK APCH) CALLED OUT TFC ON FINAL FOR RWY 16L. PF LOOKED FOR THE TFC AND APPARENTLY FIXATED ON RWY 16L, WHEN HE LOOKED BACK AT THE RWY, AND LENGTHENED HIS FINAL TURN TO LINE UP ON IT. AS WE OVERSHOT RWY 16R, WE GOT A TA ON THE TFC ON FINAL TO RWY 16L, FOLLOWED BY AN RA AS WE GOT CLOSER TO HIS APCH PATH. ABOUT THE SAME TIME, TWR ASKED IF WE COULD SEE THE TFC AND CLARIFIED THE RWY. OUR DSCNT RATE AT THE TIME ALREADY PUT US IN THE GREEN BAND ON THE TAVSI, SO WE CONTINUED DSCNT AND CORRECTED BACK TO RWY 16R, LNDG UNEVENTFULLY.
