Narrative:

When entering the class D airspace, tower cleared me for a straight-in and to report a certain point. Upon reporting that point, tower cleared me to land #3 following a navajo. Seconds later I heard windmilling propellers above me. The navajo passed and descended by me within approximately 30 ft. Contributing factors: tower's failure to mention conflicting traffic. My assumption that no traffic was present.

Title: PA32 COMMUTER ACFT HAS NMAC WITH SECOND COMMUTER WHILE ON STRAIGHT-IN APCH. SECOND ACFT OVERTAKES RPTR ACFT AT 30 FT ABOVE AND OVERFLIES.

Narrative: WHEN ENTERING THE CLASS D AIRSPACE, TWR CLRED ME FOR A STRAIGHT-IN AND TO RPT A CERTAIN POINT. UPON RPTING THAT POINT, TWR CLRED ME TO LAND #3 FOLLOWING A NAVAJO. SECONDS LATER I HEARD WINDMILLING PROPS ABOVE ME. THE NAVAJO PASSED AND DSNDED BY ME WITHIN APPROX 30 FT. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: TWR'S FAILURE TO MENTION CONFLICTING TFC. MY ASSUMPTION THAT NO TFC WAS PRESENT.
