Narrative:

On may/xx/96, I departed cjg in a cessna 310 on an IFR flight to avl. I had no passenger aboard and had completed a thorough preflight. The flight went uneventful until I was established on the ILS runway 34 approach under VMC. At that time the pilot side emergency exit window was sucked out (about 5 mi out) over a non congested wooded area. The airplane showed no noticeable change in flight characteristics and I landed without any problems. Please note that the airplane had just come out of the annual inspection only one flight before this flight.
