Narrative:

The first flight attendant brought her son with her on our 3 day trip. On day 2, a flight was overbooked. The first flight attendant had brought her son down to the plane with us. I assumed she had cleared this with the gate agent. I secured the galley and the captain said 'we got to go,' and began rolling down runway. The first flight attendant returned to the first class galley just as the captain said this. I had to run to my jumpseat. The second flight attendant was seated in the tailcone jumpseat because the ironing board jumpseat would block me from getting to the tailcone. I sat in the middle jumpseat and it was at that time that I realized that the first flight attendant's son was seated in the tailcone jumpseat. After takeoff, the first flight attendant came back and told her son to stay in the galley. She told us both she would have never have put him on the jumpseat if she'd known there wasn't a passenger seat. I feel at the time the door was closed and the passenger total onboard was given to her, she should have known we were completely full. In a conversation the three of us had, the second flight attendant and myself told the first flight attendant that we did not like the position she had put us in. She assured us she would take full responsibility for this incident.
