Narrative:
The offsh 3 and the porte 1 departures start out the same from runway 1. While on a vector wbound after takeoff, departure gave us a heading to intercept the 135 degree radial off of point reyes. I immediately realized we were going to fly the wrong departure. We put the offsh 3 departure in the FMC and we should have put the porte 1 departure in the FMC. I said to ATC I thought we were cleared on the offshore 3 departure and they said no you are to fly the porte 1 departure. ATC then cancelled the clearance to intercept the 135 degree radial off of point reyes and cleared us direct to fellows. While setting up the cockpit I checked the pre departure clearance for our altitude (23000 ft) and for our squawk (transponder). When it came time to brief I asked the copilot who had his departure page out on his clipboard, 'what departure are we going to fly?' he said offshore 3. I got my page out and we briefed the departure. Instead of asking the copilot what departure we are going to fly I should have looked carefully at the pre departure clearance and verified it myself. Our clearance was the porte 1 departure.

Title: LGT FLC SELECTS WRONG SID AND REALIZES IT SHORTLY AFTER TKOF WITH A VECTOR FROM ATC.
Narrative: THE OFFSH 3 AND THE PORTE 1 DEPS START OUT THE SAME FROM RWY 1. WHILE ON A VECTOR WBOUND AFTER TKOF, DEP GAVE US A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE 135 DEG RADIAL OFF OF POINT REYES. I IMMEDIATELY REALIZED WE WERE GOING TO FLY THE WRONG DEP. WE PUT THE OFFSH 3 DEP IN THE FMC AND WE SHOULD HAVE PUT THE PORTE 1 DEP IN THE FMC. I SAID TO ATC I THOUGHT WE WERE CLRED ON THE OFFSHORE 3 DEP AND THEY SAID NO YOU ARE TO FLY THE PORTE 1 DEP. ATC THEN CANCELLED THE CLRNC TO INTERCEPT THE 135 DEG RADIAL OFF OF POINT REYES AND CLRED US DIRECT TO FELLOWS. WHILE SETTING UP THE COCKPIT I CHKED THE PRE DEP CLRNC FOR OUR ALT (23000 FT) AND FOR OUR SQUAWK (XPONDER). WHEN IT CAME TIME TO BRIEF I ASKED THE COPLT WHO HAD HIS DEP PAGE OUT ON HIS CLIPBOARD, 'WHAT DEP ARE WE GOING TO FLY?' HE SAID OFFSHORE 3. I GOT MY PAGE OUT AND WE BRIEFED THE DEP. INSTEAD OF ASKING THE COPLT WHAT DEP WE ARE GOING TO FLY I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED CAREFULLY AT THE PRE DEP CLRNC AND VERIFIED IT MYSELF. OUR CLRNC WAS THE PORTE 1 DEP.
