Narrative:
I observed the jet about 1-2 seconds before it passed slightly behind and above me. It had been apparently approaching from my left rear quarter possibly en route from sbj to mmu. I was climbing out of 47N for 4500 ft en route to N30 via stw. I lost sight of the fact that I was climbing through an IFR altitude near a victor airway. I was scanning from my 9 O'clock to 3 O'clock, but wasn't looking behind me. I should have at least been monitoring ny approach. Generally at that time of day they're too busy to handle flight following so I didn't bother to ask.
