Narrative:

While on the ground at sdf, 2 FAA inspectors checked the aircraft over and found a slight fuel weep from the left wing slat actuator weep hole, and some prior damage to the left wing outer panel skin. The fuel seep was quite small and having checked worse in prior sits, I felt it was not a big deal. The damage to the outer wing panel looked like a scratch and was described by the inspector as if someone had 'dragged a ladder' under the wing. On closer inspection by a mechanic the damage seemed more of a dent and scrape as if caused by a baggage cart. Basically the damage was felt serious enough to cancel the flight and ferry the aircraft to be repaired. We had however, previously flown passenger to sdf from atl. This damage should have been reported by whomever caused it. Time and place unknown.

Title: AN ACR B727 SO RPTS THAT AN FAA INSPECTION OF THE ACFT REVEALED THAT THE ACFT HAD BEEN DAMAGED. THE TIME AND PLACE OF THE DAMAGE WAS UNKNOWN BUT IT DID OCCUR PRIOR TO THE ACFT'S INBOUND PAX CARRYING FLT.

Narrative: WHILE ON THE GND AT SDF, 2 FAA INSPECTORS CHKED THE ACFT OVER AND FOUND A SLIGHT FUEL WEEP FROM THE L WING SLAT ACTUATOR WEEP HOLE, AND SOME PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE L WING OUTER PANEL SKIN. THE FUEL SEEP WAS QUITE SMALL AND HAVING CHKED WORSE IN PRIOR SITS, I FELT IT WAS NOT A BIG DEAL. THE DAMAGE TO THE OUTER WING PANEL LOOKED LIKE A SCRATCH AND WAS DESCRIBED BY THE INSPECTOR AS IF SOMEONE HAD 'DRAGGED A LADDER' UNDER THE WING. ON CLOSER INSPECTION BY A MECH THE DAMAGE SEEMED MORE OF A DENT AND SCRAPE AS IF CAUSED BY A BAGGAGE CART. BASICALLY THE DAMAGE WAS FELT SERIOUS ENOUGH TO CANCEL THE FLT AND FERRY THE ACFT TO BE REPAIRED. WE HAD HOWEVER, PREVIOUSLY FLOWN PAX TO SDF FROM ATL. THIS DAMAGE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RPTED BY WHOMEVER CAUSED IT. TIME AND PLACE UNKNOWN.
