Narrative:

Upon reaching FL180 on descent I noticed that I had not set my altimeter to 29.92 in the climb through FL180. We cruised for 150 NM at an altitude of approximately 270 ft above our assigned cruise altitude of FL330 as a result. More caution should be used to verify proper altimeter settings in both climb and at leveloff at cruise altitude. Supplemental information from acn 339393: we missed resetting our altimeters despite our company's new procedure of doing a 'climb check' at transition altitude. Contributing factor was a vector clearance direct to anc, in lieu of the filed jet route, at around 10000 ft.
