Narrative:

Lax ground told us to taxi to runway 25R via south route. We were at gate X, north side. Only 1 ground controller was in use, 121.75. When we reached taxiway sc, we did not stop because he said taxi to runway 25R. After we passed taxiway sc, he said we were to stop at taxiway southeast. I asked, since we were cleared runway 25R via south route, why were we supposed to stop. He said the airport diagram says to. I disagree. He (the only ground controller) said taxi runway 25R via south route and no hold short instructions were given.
