Narrative:

At approximately XA02Z we requested FL330 from FL290. About 1 min later ZAB 135.8 cleared us to FL330. Copilot set and pointed to FL330 and he read back FL330 to center, and I confirmed FL330 set and armed. About 60 DME west of gup we requested a deviation to right of course for WX. ZAB asked if we were level FL310 and we responded we were cleared to FL330. We were climbing at about 700 FPM and we were at FL314 before starting descent back to FL310. ZAB controller called back and apologized for the confusion.
