Narrative:
Aircraft to my 10 O'clock position and approximately 200 ft lower than me, which I had trouble seeing at first because I am a low wing aircraft. The aircraft to my 10 O;clock position (cadet) started to gain altitude and turn toward me. At this point I quickly turned right with full power to avoid the other aircraft which came closer than 500 ft. I took action to bring both aircraft to safety.
