Narrative:

At sju tower runway 10 the designated landing runway was closed due to construction north of it and notamed closed, also on ATIS. Aircraft X inbound cleared to land runway 10 by local controller. The controller was unaware he had cleared the aircraft to land runway 10. He thought he had said cleared to land runway 8. Controller could not distinguish that the aircraft made his approach to runway 10 instead of runway 8 since he was on a close in right base at night. Supplemental information from acn 331117: after communicating with sju international airport approach control and given runway 8 for landing, sju control tower gave me runway 10 for landing. The controller changed runways. After verify and confirm that the tower indicated runway 10 for landing, I landed the aircraft on runway 10 as indicated by ATC. After landing and exiting the runway, port authority/authorized personnel approached the aircraft indicating that I landed in a closed runway. I indicated that the tower told me to land in that runway 10. Port authority/authorized personnel indicated that they will make a report to the FAA. After I explained to the port authority/authorized personnel what happened, he contacted the tower controller and the controller indicated that it was his mistake, that he forgot that the runway was closed, and that his supervisor was removing him and send him to training.

Narrative: AT SJU TWR RWY 10 THE DESIGNATED LNDG RWY WAS CLOSED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION N OF IT AND NOTAMED CLOSED, ALSO ON ATIS. ACFT X INBOUND CLRED TO LAND RWY 10 BY LCL CTLR. THE CTLR WAS UNAWARE HE HAD CLRED THE ACFT TO LAND RWY 10. HE THOUGHT HE HAD SAID CLRED TO LAND RWY 8. CTLR COULD NOT DISTINGUISH THAT THE ACFT MADE HIS APCH TO RWY 10 INSTEAD OF RWY 8 SINCE HE WAS ON A CLOSE IN R BASE AT NIGHT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 331117: AFTER COMMUNICATING WITH SJU INTL ARPT APCH CTL AND GIVEN RWY 8 FOR LNDG, SJU CTL TWR GAVE ME RWY 10 FOR LNDG. THE CTLR CHANGED RWYS. AFTER VERIFY AND CONFIRM THAT THE TWR INDICATED RWY 10 FOR LNDG, I LANDED THE ACFT ON RWY 10 AS INDICATED BY ATC. AFTER LNDG AND EXITING THE RWY, PORT AUTH PERSONNEL APCHED THE ACFT INDICATING THAT I LANDED IN A CLOSED RWY. I INDICATED THAT THE TWR TOLD ME TO LAND IN THAT RWY 10. PORT AUTH PERSONNEL INDICATED THAT THEY WILL MAKE A RPT TO THE FAA. AFTER I EXPLAINED TO THE PORT AUTH PERSONNEL WHAT HAPPENED, HE CONTACTED THE TWR CTLR AND THE CTLR INDICATED THAT IT WAS HIS MISTAKE, THAT HE FORGOT THAT THE RWY WAS CLOSED, AND THAT HIS SUPVR WAS REMOVING HIM AND SEND HIM TO TRAINING.
