Narrative:

I was on the ramp and called the tower (tower controled all the frequencys at this time) to request taxi to runway 36. Instead of requesting runway 36 at the taxiway left intersection I said runway 18. The tower then cleared me for takeoff on runway 18, so I took off but on runway 36 at taxiway left, like I have done 100 times before. The contributing factors were the thunderstorms across my route from lit-stl. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: callback to identify aircraft type. Reporter verified cessna 310.
