Narrative:

PIC verified all baggage doors were closed and locked before emplaning. After PIC was complete with preflight, owner/passenger checked baggage doors and later said that he was sure they were locked. Shortly after takeoff, nose baggage door opened. Climb out was discontinued and a normal landing was made. In a corp operation, it is vital that the PIC is the only person who is authority/authorized to operate/close doors, though in this case, the door latch may have failed.

Title: THE NOSE BAGGAGE DOOR OF AN SMT TWIN OPENS DURING TKOF CAUSING THE PLT TO RETURN LAND.

Narrative: PIC VERIFIED ALL BAGGAGE DOORS WERE CLOSED AND LOCKED BEFORE EMPLANING. AFTER PIC WAS COMPLETE WITH PREFLT, OWNER/PAX CHKED BAGGAGE DOORS AND LATER SAID THAT HE WAS SURE THEY WERE LOCKED. SHORTLY AFTER TKOF, NOSE BAGGAGE DOOR OPENED. CLBOUT WAS DISCONTINUED AND A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE. IN A CORP OP, IT IS VITAL THAT THE PIC IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS AUTH TO OPERATE/CLOSE DOORS, THOUGH IN THIS CASE, THE DOOR LATCH MAY HAVE FAILED.
