Narrative:

At the top of a thermal spiraling right, I decided a transition toward lake tahoe. After 3 seconds of transition both my student and I saw a yellow and red mass passing under our glider from a 8 O'clock to a 2 O'clock position. No corrective action possible. Supplemental information from acn 334684: aircraft was on a heading for the visual approach to rno descending to 11000 ft. Aircraft went across final just east of minden when he reported a near midair collision -- pilot called it a 'near miss.' no primary target was observed where near midair collision occurred. There were other targets southeast of his position by 5 mi. I was not in contact with any glider.
