Narrative:

Cleared from omaha, beatrice, on an IFR flight plan. (On a training flight in VMC) we were given the omaha 3 departure and told to fly runway heading after departure (320 degrees) (ATC claims 300 degrees). Student pilot deviated off heading to 340 degrees while B737 taking off runway 35. Had to turn immediately left to 265 degrees at controller's prompting (instructor took over at that point). B737 went underneath and in back of us. Our plane was a C172.
